FREE SOFTBALL CLINIC-New Date * Sunday, June 3rd
Instructed by Arlington High School Varsity PlayersUpdated Friday May 18, 2018 by Steve Severn.
Due to weather conditions Clinic has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 3rd
Hello my name is Sydney Rood and I am a student at Washington-Lee High School in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Part of the IB program involves a creativity, action and service project. I really enjoy playing softball and want to give back to the community that helped me start playing by offering a free youth softball clinic on Sunday, June 3rd at Greenbrier Park, Field #1 from 1:00-300.
I hope that by offering this clinic I will encourage young children to continue to play softball. I am focusing on the idea that a positive experience playing softball at a young age is an important motivating factor for young girls to continue to play when they are older (travel/high school level).
I have been playing softball for AGSA since I was in elementary school. In 7th grade I began playing AGSA travel softball for Arlington Sage. In 8th grade, I participated in junior varsity softball at W-L, and have been playing on the varsity team for the past three years. One of the reasons I continue to play softball is because of the positive experience I had through AGSA when I was younger.
The clinic will involve infield and outfield drills, along with hitting stations and a short scrimmage at the end. Please see the flier for more details."
I attached a copy of the flier for the clinic.
PLEASE respond directly to me at .firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to participate.
Thank you again for helping me.
